STORY

In the sleep-deprived fog of motherhood, I stumbled across the Roosevelt quote: “do what you can, with what you have, where you are”.  I painted it onto an old terracotta rooftile I had picked up from a reclamation yard. It was a daily encouragement and helped me through that season.

What began as a desire to put words that inspire into the spaces where they’ll be seen, has evolved into a practice of restoring purpose to exquisite fabric that has outlived us all, and the never-ending possibility of what to print.

In our busy, digital lives, words get left behind in books – so The Linen Print Company puts them on walls to encourage and inspire us in the spaces where we’ll see them.

Hand-printing each letter delicately onto vintage linen, every element of creation is bespoke, slow, mindful, and steeped in history.  Working from home, I steal away, and each print is like a meditation on the text that’s been chosen, the feel of the fabric and the hands they’ve passed through, creating heirlooms from the past to pass on to future generations.
